CEO: Aeroflot plans to carry 43.5 mln passengers in 2023

MOSCOW, Jan 30 (PRIME) -- Russian flagship air carrier Aeroflot plans to provide services to 43.5 million people in 2023 after 40.7 million people in 2022, CEO Sergei Aleksandrovsky said on Monday.

"(We plan to carry) up to 43.5 million passengers (in 2023)," Aleksandrovsky said.

According to the executive, the passenger traffic is to increase to 65 million people per year by 2030, and the market share, including foreign airlines, to 50% from about 40%. The previous development strategy of the company envisaged providing services to 130 million people per year by 2028.

The company plans to develop hubs in the south, the Far East of the country, the Volga and Urals regions, he said. Aeroflot will launch 339 Russia-made jets by 2030, and the fleet will consist of Russia-made planes by 70%, he said. The total fleet number is estimated at about 500 by the end of 2030.

The share of additional income, or income from extra services to be provided in partnership with other companies will double, Aleksandrovsky said.

According to Aleksandrovsky, Aeroflot plans no additional measures of financial restructuring in 2023. The company was confident of servicing the obligations and having free cash flow in 2022, he said.
